Sierra Vista Hospital Welcomes CEO Mike Zauner from Fellow Psychiatric Solutions Facility

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - (June 1, 2010) - Sierra Vista Hospital, a full-service behavioral health facility, is proud to announce Mike Zauner as the new chief executive officer. Zauner comes to Sierra Vista, a Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (PSI) facility, having served in leadership positions at PSI sister facilities.

As CEO of Sierra Vista Hospital, Zauner will oversee the daily responsibilities of the facility, including planning, organizing and directing the hospital staff to ensure that quality healthcare is administered to every patient. Additionally, he will be responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of the hospital.

Most recently, Zauner served as the chief operating officer at Fairfax Hospital in Kirkland, Wash., a PSI facility and Washington’s largest for-profit behavioral health hospital. Prior to being the facility’s COO, he also served as the business development director. During his time at Fairfax, he also served as interim CEO at West Hills Hospital, a PSI facility in Reno, Nev.

“Mike is a great asset to the Psychiatric Solutions family, and he has shown his capabilities while leading staff and caring for patients at other PSI facilities,” said Jay Kellison, PSI division president. “He understands and integrates sound business practices, but more importantly, he understands the importance of positive employee relations and ensuring the highest quality care for our patients and their families.”

Additionally, Zauner has been a technology support product specialist for the Oracle Corporation, an alliance manager in sales and business development for Brience, Inc., a managed care consultant for Ardent Healthcare Corporation, and the executive director of managed care for the Midwest Division of Charter Medical Corporation. Zauner earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science with a minor in philosophy from the University of California, Davis, and a Master of Business Administration in management and marketing from the Indiana University Graduate School of Business.
